Befriending
The service helps people who live in a rural setting and/or are socially isolated, living on their own, or who have no close family in the area. Clients are matched with a volunteer who will spend time with them on a regular or ad hoc basis. The volunteer can make home visits or take the client out of their home for a cup of tea or a visit to the shops.
Meals on Wheels
Individuals can access a two course hot meal delivered to their door by a volunteer. This service enables clients to have access to a healthy and nutritious meal, as well as regular contact with the volunteer. The service runs from Monday to Friday; additional meals can be provided on the Friday for the weekend. The service costs £5 for a two-course meal.
Supported shopping schemes
The shopping scheme supports older people to access the local shops. Volunteers pick clients up from their home in a minibus and support them to read labels and carry their shopping.
Social car scheme
Individuals who do not have access to transport are able to access support from a volunteer driver, who can take them to health appointments, social events, or the shops when required.

Support for carers
Unpaid family carers can access respite support through our Respite Sitting Service. The cared for person is matched to a full trained volunteer who can stay with them in their own home whilst the carer leaves the house or has a rest.
