Support for older people

Bob driving

The service helps people who live in a rural setting and/or are socially isolated, living on their own, or who have no close family in the area. Clients are matched with a volunteer who will support the client to attend activities and services.

Meals on Wheels

Individuals can access a two course hot meal delivered to their door by a volunteer. This service enables clients to have access to a healthy and nutritious meal, as well as regular contact with the volunteer. The service runs from Monday to Friday; additional meals can be provided on the Friday for the weekend. The service costs £6 for a two-course meal.

Supported shopping schemes

The shopping scheme supports older people to access the local shops. Volunteers pick clients up from their home in a minibus and support them to read labels and carry their shopping.

Social car scheme

Individuals who do not have access to transport are able to access support from a volunteer driver, who can take them to health appointments, social events, or the shops when required.

To make a booking, call 01845 574707 on Mon-Fri between 10am and 12noon or email

Support for carers

Unpaid family carers can access respite support through our Respite Sitting Service. The cared for person is matched to a full trained volunteer who can stay with them in their own home whilst the carer leaves the house or has a rest.
