Leaving a gift in your Will to Thirsk Community Care
Thirsk Community Care offers vital support to older people, children with disabilities, vulnerable women and carers in our area. We work with local volunteers to offer the help people need to live active, independent lives in their community.
Gifts people leave in their Wills are essential to the future of our services. Anything you can leave would have a huge impact. Just 1% of your estate can help ensure we’re always here for local people who need us.
A gift in your Will can help the people we support to have the opportunity to live a fulfilled life. Here Annie explains how much it meant to her that Thirsk Community Care was able to help her father:
“I can’t begin to say what a difference your support has made, not only to my dad, but all the family.
My mother gets a much-needed rest. She can truly chill for the day – Wednesdays are really important to her. Please pass on a massive thank you to the volunteer, his care and support are truly invaluable.
Thanks to you too and all at Thirsk Community Care for providing an excellent service to the people of Thirsk”.
Why make a Will?
Making a Will is important because it gives you the peace of mind of knowing that your wishes will be respected, and it needn’t be time-consuming or expensive. Your Will tells the people you leave behind, about the person you are. It’s about the people you love and the things you care about. Your Will helps pass on your principles and the values that matter to you.
In life we all have financial commitments, which means we can’t always do as much as we’d like to help other people. A gift left in your Will is an opportunity to give more than you might ever have been able to give in your lifetime, providing services, support and friendship for people long into the future.
How to make your gift
If you’d like to include Thirsk Community Care in your Will, ask your solicitor to use our full name and details to ensure the gift reaches us:
Thirsk Community Care, a charity registered in England and Wales no. 1172464. Registered office: 14a Market Place, Thirsk, YO7 1LB.
There are two main ways people choose to support Thirsk Community Care. A pecuniary legacy is a fixed amount of money. And a residuary legacy is a percentage or share of the balance of your estate once all other payments and gifts have been made. Many people prefer to give a residuary gift because it keeps in line with inflation and does not lose value over time.
